Come and join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our Recreational Skaters!

Join families and friends on the benches in the arena during our regular recreation sessions as our skaters skate to an Olympic theme, demonstrating some of the skills they have learned. This is a great opportunity to get to know the coaches on the ice.

It is a fabulous way for our skaters to finish the season, and we hope you are there to cheer them on!

Thanks to each of you for helping to make Winter Skate a huge success!  We have received many kind words from WFSC coaches, coaches from other clubs, and Skate Ontario.  The club could not have done this without your help!

We did a volunteer draw for four prizes that we have to give away.  Each volunteer received a ballot for every 4 hours worth of volunteering that they completed.  We're pleased to announce that the following people won these prizes:

$25 Brock House/Hot Rocks gift card:  Eleni Maronitis

$25 Brock House/Hot Rocks gift card:  Sarah Bleach

$25 Brock House/Hot Rocks gift card:  Jacqui Cook

Lavish Gift Basket:  Makenna Wright

The prizes will be available for pick-up in the office after 4:00pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.  Please come by during office hours, and we will be happy to hand these over.

Once again, thank you!!!  We hope to see you at our next event.

Wendy, Diane & the rest of the WFSC Board of Directors

Many volunteers are needed before, during, and after the competition.  No experience is necessary, and for those with Pre-Star and/or Junior skaters, this is a great sneak peek at where your skater could be in a year or two.  High School students are welcome, and we will sign their volunteer sheets at the end of each day.

Volunteers are needed on the following dates:

Thursday, January 25th

  • Daytime: clearing out the office, setting up hospitality
  • Evening: judges stands, registration, miscellaneous tasks

Friday January 26, Saturday January 27, & Sunday January 28

  • Positions include: hospitality, admissions, skater registration, security, music registration, & dressing rooms
  • Sign-up is done online

Volunteer Now:

Ice Captains

To volunteer for this position, please e-mail by Friday, January 19th with your weekend availability.  We will then create and e-mail the schedule to all Ice Captains.

Volunteers are asked to come to a quick Volunteer meeting on Wednesday, January 24th at 7:15pm in the large dressing room.

Congratulations to Charlotte K (senior) and Danielle B (junior) for their hard work on the ice during our Learn to Skate programs in December.
