About Us

Welcome to the The Whitby Figure Skating Club.  We have been proudly serving skaters since 1973.

Our annual membership of over 1000 skaters enjoy instruction from our professional Skate Canada certified coaching staff.  Their efforts, along with the skaters' talent and hard work, contribute to the success of our club.

WFSC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a wide variety of skating programs including CanSkate, STARSkate, Competitive stream, Powerskating, and Teen-Adult programs. Synchronized skating is offered through IceFyre, the Whitby Synchronized Skating Teams.

A team of volunteers governs the Whitby Figure Skating Club.  The Board of Directors is elected yearly at the Annual General Meeting.

Mission

Our mission is to provide skating programs for everyone to participate in - for fun, fitness, interest and/or achievement. These programs will foster and promote skater development in a safe and positive environment.

Facilities

The Whitby Figure Skating Club is located at the McKinney Centre, in Whitby, Ontario, and the majority of our programs take place in this building.  The boardless figure skating rink (Pad 3) offers a mirrored wall, jump harness, and a heated lobby with windows overlooking the ice pad.  Access to off-ice conditioning facilities as well as seminars for skaters help round out our training programs.  We are able to offer programs year round, and are constantly looking to add additional training experiences for our skaters.

Skate Canada's Position Statement on Bullying

The WFSC strongly supports Skate Canada’s Position Statement on Bullying.
